In July/August of 1998, I asked Joey if he'd help me maintain Daniel's site. I remember his saying that it would be an honor and a privilege. He was a huge Daniel fan. In August, I emailed Joey a couple of new stories which were never uploaded to the site. A month later, I found out that he'd died in his sleep.
Joey was not a particularly close friend of mine or Daniel's but I know that he was somewhere in his 20s when he died suddenly and unexpectedly. He was kind and considerate to me and Daniel and always helpful. The only thing he ever asked for was friendship. One of the things I'll always remember about Joey was his correcting my Australian spelling of "dived" to the American "dove". :o) Prophetically, in one of his last emails to me he said, "we've all got to go sometime".
Those of you who are familiar with the news groups would have seen Joey's postings on abpetm -- some of you may have been familiar with his web site/s.
It was after Joey's sad demise that I decided to learn webmastering myself and become independent. Now, if I bitch at anyone, I can only bitch at myself.
Anyway, Joey's legacy as far as I can determine is this: be kind to each other and do what you can to help your bro.

REST IN PEACE, JOEY -- AND THANKS FOR YOUR HELP
